Matadero Madrid

by various architects

Matadero is a former slaughterhouse in the Arganzuela district of Madrid. The original structure, dating back to the early 1900s, has been converted to a center for culture and artistic creation. Today it is a place of architectural experimentation and the Madrid City Council involved several architects in its transformation. To name just a few: Arturo Franco restored the hall and the Intermediae space; the Central de Diseño is the result of a project led by José Antonio García Roldán; Langarita Navarro Arquitectos were in charge of transforming the Nave 15 in what is now the Nave de Música.
